Faultline

Nothing here is calm. The surface crusts over, whilst underneath
the earth still grinds its teeth.

Burnt metal, volcanic glass, oxidized scars, where fire learns the weight of stone.

Molten until the last second.  Then rust.  Ash.  Bone-grey crust.
